Worried about your milk supply? While milk supply is all about responding to the demands of your baby, sometimes they demand so much that mama needs a helping hand! Mums all over the world use lactation cookies to help their milk supply. And our super handy mix can be turned into so many delicious lactation creations - try cookies, crumble or slice!
We make our mix here in Melbourne, and don't use any preservatives or artificial ingredients. And, because it's a dry mix, it's perfect for vegan mamas, dairy free mamas and soy free mamas. Simply use 1/4 cup mashed banana or apple sauce instead of egg and voila! And for diary free, use melted coconut oil - easy as that!
Our super generous mix makes 20 - 30 biscuits, or one whole tray of slice, or one whole crumble. It works out to about 30c per biscuit - compared to other brands which cost $1.50-$2 per biscuit!
Simply add 1/2 cup cooled melted butter and 1 egg, extra flavourings if you are feeling creative (1tsp cinnamon is my favourite), and bake to make 20-30 biscuits absolutely loaded with milk supporting foods such as oats, brewers yeast, linseed, almond, sunflower and pumpkin seeds. We use crunchy raw sugar to give the biscuits a delicious texture!
And if you aren't up to mixing up your own biscuits simply add 150g melted butter (or melted coconut oil) and turn your cookie mix into a mama-fueling apple crumble!
Vegan/Dairy/Soy Free option:
For cookies or slice, use 1/4 cup mashed banana or apple sauce in place of egg, and melted coconut oil in place of butter.
Eat one at each feed for a few days to really bump up your energy for making milk. Or a serving of crumble 2-3 times per day.
